Raimundo Jinkings

Raimundo Jinkings (1927-1995), bookseller, journalist and communist leader, exerted important role in the social, cultural and political history of Brazil, more particularly in Belém do Pará.
While still very young he has worked as a journalist and banking, Jinkings has dedicated himself to the struggle of worker resistance against capitalist exploitation and its economic and political emancipation.
He was arrested in the 1964 coup and after he got out the prision, opened a bookstore. An emblematic bookstore that was a point meeting during 40 years.
